"As a father I only want the best for my kids, which is why when my children expressed certain concerns to me it was important that I addressed them immediately.  Then, I couldn't help but wonder how many other kids may have those same questions or worries.  Those events were what let to me writing my first two books, "Yes, you are beautiful too!", and "Dad, can I ask you a question?"  I want all children, especially those that are black and brown, to be empowered and confident in the skin they are in, and their ability to accomplish anything they put their minds to.

In the same token, as someone who was the antagonist in multiple failed relationships, I hated being part of a cycle that led to brokenness.  It took a while, but through a shear desire to be a better man and consistency with the process, I was able to break out of the mindset that caused me to be that unbecoming person.  My eyes were opened to perspectives I was blind to, and my transgressions become unbearably apparent.  That's why I wrote my third book "4 Children, 3 Baby Momma's, 2 Divorces Later...: what I learned from failing in my relationships."  If I can help guide even one person to that "aha" moment sooner than later, it can prevent that much more brokenness from entering the world.  And, who knows, healthy relationships can become the majority, while toxic ones a thing of the past."

IN THE PRESS

This book is a wonderful way to build a little girl's self-esteem. If they have been asking why they are "different" or have been told they aren't pretty, Quinton's book is a great approach to remind them that they are special and beautiful. With a positive message and beautiful illustrations, I would recommend this book to anyone with little girls that deserve to be the best!

Thank you for this book! My daughter read the book 3 times in one night once to my husband, Myself, and then her brother. She even started asking questions about the book, things she didn't understand or want to know more about. So thank you! This book is a great conversation piece for children.
